About Our Workshop
The Lazarus Wood Project is a furniture and home decor workshop located in Emmaus, PA. We produce our own line of furniture as well as commissioned custom pieces. Each and every one of our pieces pass through the hands of our builders from start to finish. Our attention to detail, quality of materials, and pride in our work set us apart from mass produced furniture companies. The originality and hand crafted designs are sure to invoke conversation and the heirloom quality will last for generations.
Michael Butynskyi is a native to the Lehigh Valley. His artistic desire to create has been a lifelong journey. From Baum School of Art, Tyler School of Art in Philadelphia and being a self trained Chef; he has honed his creations through various mediums.
As an avid hiker and lover of nature, Michael has always had a connection with raw beauty in natural materials. It is this passion that allows him to transform what was once lost into a piece with form for those that share a similar love of wood.
Michael is currently refurbishing a 1977 MCI Passenger bus into his new home. Follow his progress @Marjorie_the_bus
Jevon grew up a "builder" like his Father and his Father before him. He grew up working with him every summer, learning the trade. He attributes this as his introduction to, and refinement of, quality craftsmanship. Jevon has always been inclined to create and build things for friends and family as gifts, or as decor around his home. Jevon says he is "hyper focused" and "extremely critical" of his own work.
"I'm tough on myself, but I think that's a good thing in the long run. I always want to put the best of myself out into the world and I think that's reflected in our furniture. Aside from all that, I just feel most comfortable and inspired doing what I do. It's the best job I've ever had because it doesn't ever really feel like a job to me."
Jevon lives in Pennsylvania with his wife Jennifer and two boys Oliver and Theodore
